John Bowman has been in show business since he was eleven years old and was sold to a carnival side show as the "Snake Boy". He escaped and worked as an actor at The Boarshead Theater in Lansing, Michigan.
They sold his contract back to the carnival where he excelled as the "Snake Man" for the next twenty years. In between stops in Appleton and Macon he appeared on "The Tonight Show" and "Gotham Live" as a comedian, in "Miami Vice" as a vicious killer drug lord pervert who played with dolls.
He also appeared on "Seinfeld", "Ellen", among many other shows. He appeared in a number of plays in New York, some of them written by Lewis Black. He has toured with Lewis for the last few years, opening the show, and contributing additional material, as well as writing the segments for "Inside the NFL", for which they won one Emmy and is nominated for the Dick Schapp Sports Writing Emmy this year.
He also was a Producer on "The Root of All Evil", currently running on Comedy Central. He can still be seen as the "Snake Man" with the Claudesville Traveling Carnival as well as opening for Lewis Black at venues across the country.
