Paul Chowdhry has distinguished himself over the past few years as one of the most talented and popular comedians to have recently emerged. Inspired by comedians such as Richard Prior, George Carlin and Sam Kinison. Paul is one of the few comics with the ability and diversity to effortlessly straddle the urban and main stand-up circuits as an international headline act. Constantly challenging and relentlessly inventive comedy fuels an eclectic set punctuated by impressive feats of mimicry and verbal dexterity.  Paul’s highly charged dry observational humour taps into the multicultural diversity of contemporary Britain.

Best Of British

2009 was a ground breaking year seeing Chowdhry sell out the West Ends Leicester Square Theatre and other major venues across the Country with his solo show ‘The Ironic Iconic’. In February 2008 he featured as the headlining act of  ‘The Comedy Store TV Special’ &‘Comedy Blue’ series for the Comedy Central channel. Chowdhry presented the MTV comedy weekend and featured on MTV’s ‘The Young Gods of Comedy’.  Paul is currently touring at various high profile venues including the prestigious Soho Theatre in the West End of London. In 2005 he made a definitive mark at the Edinburgh Festival, selling out his debut solo show followed with a further sell out at the prestigious Soho Theatre in the West End of London. He is amongst the few comedians to perform at Wembley Arena and The Grovsenor House before Cherrie Blaire and Richard Attenborough. In 2007 he debuted his new show ‘Lost in Confusion’ at the Edinburgh Festival, selling out, receiving rave reviews across the board and being chosen by The Telegraph as a ‘must do’ show of the year.

Internationally Acclaimed

During 2004 he starred in The World Stands Up and The All-New Comedy Store for Five, Paramount Comedy Channel and USA’s Comedy Central. A year earlier, in front of over 30,000 people, Paul became the first British act to perform at the Caribbean Comedy Festival in Trinidad. During 2006 he performed nine sell out shows at the NEC Birmingham. Paul was also the host of the 2006 AMA (Asian Music Awards) at the Hammersmith Palais. Earlier in 2007 he performed at The Panasonic Theatre in Toronto, Canada as a part of ‘The World Comedy Clash’ showcase. ‘I believe that my overall favourite act was Paul Chowdhry’ An established international act, he also performed tours of Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Amsterdam, Germany, South Africa and headlined the International Indian Kings of Comedy tour. Paul’s courageous search for the absurd in issues such as racism, terrorism and religious fundamentalism is funny around the world.

Comedy Performer

Paul is also a huge acting talent, soon to be in the 2010 feature film ‘Swinging With The Finkles ‘ along side Melissa George (The Betrayed, 30 days of Night), Jonathan Silverman (Weekend at Bernie’s), Angus Deayton (One Foot in the Grave), Jerry Stiller (Hairspray, The King of Queens (TV), Zoolander) and Martin Freeman (The Office, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy).

This adds to his appearances in a number of prestigious and high profile films such as: Rogue Trader with Ewan McGregor and Anna Friel, It Was An Accident alongside Thandie Newton and most recently Colour Me Kubrick with John Malkovich.
