Genevieve Joy
GENEVIEVE JOY is one of the most celebrated comedians of her generation, or plans to be. She was born in Manhattan, the youngest and favorite of four and a half children and survived a somewhat crazy but generally functional upbringing in CT. After graduating from College with a degree in Russian Studies and Philosphy, Genevieve returned to NYC to persue stand-up comedy. In 2011 she wrote, produced, and starred in the tour de force short, "Retardian Angel" which was honored at numerous film festivals. In 2012, she wrote and performed her one-woman show, "My HBO Special." And then packed up her belongings, including the remains of her hairless, bulimic cat, "Lex" and moved to Los Angeles where she starred in the Falcon Theatre's production of "I Ought to be in Pictures" opposite Robert Wuhl and was named one of Broadway World Magazines best leading ladies of LA Theatre 2012.
Her personal heroes and influences include Garry Marshall, Rob Shapiro, Whoopi Goldberg, Joan Cusack, Tony Robbins, and Freddie Mercury.
She enjoys diet coke, and The Cosby Show, Peeing in inappropriate places, and does not masturbate but if she did it would be to Tim Curry as Cardinal Richelieu in Disney's 1993 Remake of the Three Musketeers.
