Vocalist Mardie Millit has been holding forth at Elaine’s, the world-famous night spot, for well over a year, where she has become known for her late-night duets with TV and movie heartthrobs and a former head of the CIA. She has also made regular appearances at the Monkey Bar, Birdland, and the Metropolitan Room, both as a solo act and with partner Michael Garin.
Grammy Award-winning composer Billy Stritch calls her “smart, funny, wickedly irreverent and a whole lot of fun.” Tom Gates, writing for Palm Beach Societymagazine, says, “Besides being easy on the eyes, [she] has an impressive vocal range that stretches from Porter to Puccini.”
Mardie created the role of Jenny “Iceberg” Ericson in the stage adaptation of Academy Award winner William Peter Blatty’s John Goldfarb, Please Come Home! (music and lyrics by the Drama Desk Award-winning team of Erik Frandsen, Michael Garin and Robert Hipkens). Her other stage credits include Gerda, the coloratura Nazi, in Billy Stritch and Mark Waldrop’s Lily & Lily, Eliza in My Fair Lady, Musetta in La Bohème, Christine in Yeston’s Phantom, Sophie in Terrence McNally’s Master Class, Sarah in Guys & Dolls, Maria in The Sound of Music, and the cult hit Moonchild (wherein L. Ron Hubbard meets Satan).
