Lady Leah
A native of Ohio, graduate of Northwestern University, Leah Elizabeth, a.k.a. Lady Leah, grew up in a home filled with music. Her father was the Minister of Music for their local church where she and her siblings performed with him. Her sister played bass, her brothers, the guitar and drums, while she and her father were the lead vocals. Her mother, also a vocalist, exposed her to the sounds of Nancy Wilson, Ray Charles, and Aretha Franklin. Other influences include Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Stanley Turrentine, and Otis Redding. She began her professional singing career in New York City where she founded her band, The Jazzmasters. Among the most notable performances are The Red Rooster in Harlem, Lenox Lounge, St. Nick’s Pub, Birdland, Showmans, Londels, The Shrine, Cleopatra’s Needle, Aged Restaurant, and Lei at South Street Seaport. Upcoming engagements include the Metropolitan Room and The Waldorf Astoria. Leah's clear alto is well suited to her Jazz/R&B repertoire. Her stage presence and classic beauty captivate audiences everywhere.
