Tim Howe started out as a composer in the 70s and his guitar instrumentals are an
inimitable and beautiful result of the influences of Leo Kottke, Christopher Parkening
and John Lennon. Although Tim’s earliest performances in New York and New
England date back 30 years, he only began recording in 1999 and released his debut
album Category Music on Contender Records. Mission followed in 2000. Trying his
hand at lyrics, and working with the legendary Jim Dawson, Tim has now become a
highly regarded singer songwriter, releasing three full length CDs of material with The
Solid Citizens, Sound Like This (2004), Can’t Stop Now (2005), and Show Their Faces
(2007). Jim Dawson (www.JimDawson.com), Seth David Walter (keyboards, vocals),
Steve Donaghey (bass) and Sam Askin (drums) make up The Solid Citizens and are all
brilliant musicians and writers, with Jim and Seth having numerous full length CDs to
their names. The Citizens’ shows are lively, running the range of good time rockers (e.g.
“[You’re Gonna Like] What You Find Out About Me”), blues (“Oedipus Rex”, “Two
Flat Tires”), and soulful ballads (“Spanish Honeymoon”, “You and Me Again”).
