Colleen McHugh began performing comedy and improvisation with Chicago’s legendary Second City Theatre. She has sung with Michael Feinstein at Carnegie Hall, performed in a tribute to Jerry Herman at Lincoln Center (Rose Hall), and appeared in comedy sketches on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and “The Colbert Report.” Colleen was the subject of a 2011 New York Times feature for her commitment to the continued performance of the American Songbook. Her award-winning Calendar Girl NYC cabaret series has produced a new show every month for nearly three years, with subjects ranging from Judy Garland to Randy Newman to a musical exploration of the color green. She will make her Birdland solo concert debut in October 2011. She received the 2011 Bistro Award (“Outstanding Entertainer”), is a 2011 Nightlife Award finalist, and was nominated for a 2011 MAC Award as Outstanding Musical Comedy performer. Her recording of “There’s a Fine, Fine Line” from her debut album “Songs of Self-Delusion” was named an iTunes Cabaret Essential. Colleen is also the writer and producer of “Reel 13,” WNET/Thirteen’s weekly classic film series for public television.
