Witty, smart, and devilishly handsome, this former Minnesotan has been working his way through the world of comedy for his entire adult life. Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, Matt found his comedic niche by creating his first sketch show entitled “Totally Smashed” for a Minnetonka public access TV at the tender age of 17.
From there, Matt then graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in creative writing in 2006, and eventually went on to graduate from the Second City of Chicago’s writing program in 2008. While at Second City, Matt wrote for several different shows for Donny’s Sky Box Theatre including “INTERNal Affairs”, “Inhumane Society” and audience favorite “Pile Driving Miss Daisy”. During this time, Matt also won two playwriting awards from the Chameleon Theatre Circle of Minnesota for best one act play (Rules for a Knife Fight) and best 10 minute play (12 Steps to Happy Hour).
In 2009, Matt moved to Hollywood and worked for National Lampoon’s online website “The Zaz” as well as hosted a weekly comedy segment called “My Salami is Yours to Enjoy” on the wildly popular web series "Peter Himmelman’s Furious World". Additionally, Matt also authored the screenplay “Juice Box Outlaws” which is currently in development.
Since Matt took up Stand Up Comedy in late 2011, he has performed at such outstanding venues as The Comedy Store, Flappers Comedy Club, The Ice House, The Second City of Los Angeles, The Ha Ha Cafe, The Hollywood Improv and many more. His cerebral humor and confident delivery have made him a fan favorite not only amongst audiences, but also fellow comedians alike.
